I sure wish I could write on this speaking like I do on the phone!!!  lots less time and mistakes!!!

3rd day in a row with moderate weather and partly cloudy skies tenp around 35 degrees   Arrived just in time to hear the driver's meeting by Janet Clarke - always good; always inspiring!  I got my assignment from my "boss" Stacey for the day's dog team traffic control!

Things were going fine until I missed the fact that one of the teams had not come back yet from the race course and I sent a team up to the start line!!  I spent some time apologizing to the drivers, snow machine drivers and the volunteers and race marshal and of course, to my "boss"!!

The race went well, the trail was tough with a lot of ice balls so a lot of teams put boots on -

It ended with Carouse Partow winning and Michael Tetzner 2nd and Jennifer Probert Ehrhart (her mother made my Alaskan gloves.........fyi....) 3rd

Just before the awards I spoke to a man who had moved to Anchorage in 1942 and his father owned a store down town which he later turned into a furniture store..........94 years young!!!  spry and in good spirits!!!

After the race and saying goodbyes we went down to the carnival and the fur auction - didn't see anything we wanted at the auction and the same people will be there in 3 weeks at Fairbanks at the clubhouse at the Open North American Championship Sled Dog Race and the prices might be slightly less!

Went to the carnival and got my ferris wheel ride in!!!  been wanting to ever since the first year we came in 2010!

Randy got a carmel apple and then we left to take a nap before church.

Got to Mass at 5:30 and what a Mass!!  the choir was led by a baritone black man in full African dress regalia - what a wonderful personality - so much love and enthusiasm !!  I had read that ever other week this Mass was Samoan so I was not surprised to see the priest and many of the parishioners looked "Samoan"!  At the end of Mass the priest asked if anyone was ill, celebrating a birthday or anniversary or was a tourist so of course I raised my hand and was getting up to come up front alone when the priest encouraged Randy and he came up and we got a blessing with holy oil on our foreheads and on our palms..........so spiritual so touched by the gift of the Holy Spirit!

Fun conversation with the choir man after Mass and noted that all the people said goodby to each other by taking the other person's hand and touching it to their own forehead - I have never seen this before

after Mass went to a seafood grill for halibut and fries - a little pricey but good and it would have been even better if it had been light out as it overlooks the Cook Inlet!

Up this morning and the most I have accomplished is making a list of all the things I want to do this week, straighten out a parking ticket and making breakfast (which included some halibut in my spinach omelette!)

more later...............

So there is a way that you could use talk to text on your phone and then copy the information and send it to yourself in the email but that may be a little complicated as well.
I’m glad you finally got to ride the Ferris wheel! Hopefully you had a good view when you were up there. I’m surprised you didn’t take any pictures with your phone while you were up on the Ferris wheel, but that may have been a little chilly for your fingers to work the phone, and then of course, if you had dropped your phone then you’d be in big trouble!
Can’t wait to hear about the rest of your Anchorage adventures before you move onto Fairbanks. Love you both!
