Happy March everybody!!

Randy had 2 good runs with the 2 teams yesterday - he put Andy (1 year old son of Spiff) in lead for the first time and he said he went way fast!!! He says I am realllllllllllly going to like how fast they go! Sarah and her team did well also, but we are afraid it's going to be impossible to get her back in shape to use her at Fairbanks.

In answer to Jess' question - I didn't make it very clear from my note, but they did DQ Buddy Streeper - so he gave up $9800 and whatever day money he would have also on not to mention the "intangibles" - they/Streepers thought the DQ was too severe, but as I said, the club's rules didn't address any other alternatives except DQ

Today train more small teams and maybe shop for food (we did go to the expensive gas station for bread -$2.50 and milk $3.99-) but are running low on a few things.

At 5:45 we are to meet my brother's friend, Paul Herrick at Merrill Field where he is an aviation professor for Alaska University at Anchorage. Should have lots to share after that!

Oh, this is pretty funny.....yesterday while he was training the dogs, Randy went by a pile of moose poop he had seen while he was running the Rondy (some of the trail is the same trail system here at the track) and so he stopped the team and picked up about 20 moose turds to give to my brother-in-law, Larry since they call their homestead "Moose Acres" - the funniest part is that every time he tried to pick them up, some of them would fall out of the place where the end of his finger used to be, and he had a terrible time scooping all of them up!!

And I forgot to tell you, on the last day of the race there was a moose on the race trail about 50 ft to the side and he just stood there when Randy went by!
