Wish we were going to be at Luke's birthday (our youngest son) in Maricopa AZ today!!!!
Up late again -9:45 to the sound of loud speakers telling us the one dog race starts in 15 minutes! Seems like we are sleeping 12 hours and awake 12 hours...must be because of the colds we have - though we tend to sleep alot at even when we arent' sick - old age you know.....
Yesterday Pam Schamber drove a team of 4 of our dogs (Echo, Enzo, Speeder and Birdie) to see if Speeder is fast enough for her team and she decided not to take him - so we will be looking for another good home for him.
Randy did run a team of 18 and things went pretty well except the leaders cheated him by not taking a gee turn (they know if they go gee it's taking them farther away from the finish) so instead of 18 miles he went 14. Pepper didn't do very well and Ritz is now on the "give-away-list" - he was the dog Joey Redington gave us last year and I guess now we know why.....he pulls for a ways and then starts goofing off and he's old enough not to be doing that puppy stuff.
So now we are down to 19 dogs with 3 of them "on the bubble" for the Rondy. Plus we won't know how Dina, Scar and Arrow are until he takes them out for a short run today. Will let you know how that turns out!
